Though I was never one to primp & fuss over my nails, a short stint at fashion website Refinery29 left me wondering if there was something to nail art after all.
The editors were always oohing & aahing over some new trend, whether it was ombre or newspaperprint nails or studs.
I was inspired to finally get serious about my fingers tonight, when I experienced a sudden hankering for some nail creativity. As you can see from the post below, my first simple attempt was rather encouraging and inspired me to collect some other ideas that I’d like to try, via Refinery29’s wealth of nail inspiration.
Pictured above, some of my favorites:
1. Cosmic nails. Ombre blue + glitter. Out of this world.
2. A complicated looking three color deal, but there’s the potential for so many different color combination. Three colors, one thin white brush.
3. Studded nails? Not sure if I’d ever have enough patience to stick those suckers on one by one, and I’m still deciding if it looks like she has dozens of tiny bugs stuck to her nails…
4. Beautiful, soft metallics. Definitely trying this look once I acquire enough nail polishes from the $2 nail polish mecca at the Shida Night Market. 6 bottles, but I’m still working on it!
